I've only ordered take out from I Am Kimchi. It's listed as a restaurant but it's pretty small and only seems to have a few tables. It's always empty when I go pickup. I always call before. Their menu is pretty basic, but man the food portions are huge and prices are decent. I ordered the carbonara pasta, pork cutlet and dumplings soup. They're all very good. I have to say the size of the cutlet is insane. It's bigger than my the size of my face. The service is nice. The ladies are polite. The food is on point. You can also order kimchi in different sizes. I haven't tried but I bet it's very good.

This is a no frills feels like home kind of Korean restaurant. It's a small place that seats probably 12-16 max. The service was good and the spice on the food was perfect since i love spicy food

Love their gamjatang and ton katsu. I bought a bag of frozen ones back home as well. The portion is huge and the price is commendable. Just make sure you leave some time for the gamjatang, since it will take 30 minutes to prepare.

Street parking only. Q65 and Q27 are nearby. Few tables, though nicely spaced apart. Set up well for takeout orders as well. The banchan are refreshing accompaniments to the dishes - pickled radishes, cabbage salad, and kimchi. Everything has a satisfying bite and flavor. The Gal Bi Tang (beef short rib soup) is very flavorful and not overly spicy. The beef was tender. They give a generous portion, though I wish there were some vermicelli instead of all the bean sprouts. The Spicy Squid & Pork w/ Rice has a good amount of kick. The sauce goes well with the rice. The proteins are cooked perfectly. The Don Katsu (w/ or w/out cheese) is a generous portion! The katsu is crispy and juicy. Definitely a dish I have to share with someone else. Overall, a great Korean comfort food restaurant.

We ordered takeout for I am kimchi. The cheese tonkatsu was fantastic and the side dishes were really good. The pasta was very creamy and nice and the spicy squid was delightful. Overall, a really good place for its price!

Large portions. Fast service. Reasonable prices Lots of flavor! Donkatsu is huge with tons of cheese. It comes with katsu sauce and rice. The frying is good, the pieces are thick and juicy. It comes out steaming hot so don't burn yourself. Spicy Carbonara is more than a medium spicy dish. The burn lingers a bit. It's no problem for someone who eats spicy food. It would be a problem for someone who doesn't. The sauce is thick and cheesy with bacon pieces. The portion is enough for two people or one really hungry person. It comes out steaming hot. You can order as soon as you sit down. I was able to go there, wait for a table, order two dishes, eat and pay all in less than an hour. It only has space for around 15 people but the tables move quickly and so does the food.

We googled this restaurant and marked it for a long while, since it has 4.8 so I put very high expectation on it However, the dishes overall didn't reach out to my expectation. Donkatsu (Pork Cutlet with cheese) was too dry and not crispy. It taste little hard and chewy. I can tell this is a pre-cooked port cutlet. The donkatsu sauce is little sweet but not spicy, I really love it. Spicy squid & port with rice is very very spicy But the taste is still very good. Eating with cold noodle is a perfect match. That's why I also ordered a Kimchi cold noodle. But the Kimchi cold noodle takes 12.99. I don't think it's worthy of 12.99 for just a kimchi cold noodle. By the way, their kimchi is sweet and yummy. Another point satisfy me is their service. The staffs are very friendly and polite, always caring people, asking if we need anything else. So the experience here was really great though. If the donkatsu can be more crispy, I will give 5 stars.

To put simply, dining at I am Kimchi felt like the nostalgic experience of eating at a friends house for dinner. The inviting staff, as well as the homely atmosphere, paired with the courteous service made it feel like we were treated like family. There is nothing more comforting than eating somewhere with such a homely and kind atmosphere. To top of it, the food was great, the quality of each dish was great, and the price for the portion sizes were amazing. Each dish could probably feed two people, for cheaper prices than I've seen at most places! The don katsu was crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside, and the cheese, freshly melted was soft and supple. Perfect paired with the sauce. The spicy pork was tender, soft, and flavorful. It was amazing when paired with the fish soup and side dishes. Overall, had a great experience here, would definitely come back just for the service, and the food here is definitely a plus. TLDR; amazing service, great food, extraordinary pricing and portion sizing.

This was an amazing find! Was in the neighborhood one day & saw it was almost 5 stars with a nice small menu. We had to try it. *We've been back about 6 times in one month* It's not your typical Korean spot. The menu is limited & there isn't really any appetizers. You get the side dishes & a warm cup of fish soup. All complimentary. Drink selection is what you see in the refrigerator. They offer tea - it's yummy. Our first time here I ordered the Don Katsu with cheese and the Carbonara (I was shocked to see an Italian Dish on the menu - so I had to try) My s/o got the Kimichi Fried Rice. The Carbonara was literally one of the best I've had. It was rich and delicious. It was great! Better than some Italian joints I've been to. Portion was huge! I took some home! The Don Katsu w/cheese was phenomenal. Juicy pork and the cheese added a nice saltyness. I enjoyed the tiny Jalapenos on top. I'm a spice guy - so I wanted some gochujang to dip my Katsu in. The chef made me a special hot sauce and I was happy! It was a mix of gochujang and whatever else he felt appropriate. The Kimichi Fried Rice with Spam was delicious! My s/o enjoyed it so much! It's topped with a fried egg! Ask for it runny - it's the best! We've been here quiet a few times now & we want to try it all! Once again - another Italian specialty is on the menu - Shrimp Aglio e olio! This was just devine! The garlic was ample but not overpowering! There was whole garlic and I love me some garlic! .. My s/o had the Bulgogi Pot - delicious! Tender! Her new favorite bulgogi spot. The Spicy Pork with Squid - just try it! They offer frozen dumplings to go & it's must! I do it in my air fryer & it's so juicy and packed with flavor. About 15 minutes at 400 if you try it - but yah know - test for yourself. The staff is welcoming & the chef is the best! He knows we like spicy and because of the semi open kitchen view - he sees us and makes my sauce w/o asking - the second time back! And he make the Kimichi Fried Rice spicy too! He's awesome. Nice and clean place. Parking can be tough - depends on time of day.

This place has a lot of style even if their artwork and name is borrowed from some place in the Galaxy. Their not too large interior is awash in simple blonde woods to give a natural comfortable aesthetic. When I saw the chef come from the back looking confident and cool wearing a head wrap along with comfortable cotton clothing - he could be an inspiration for an anime hero chef. I felt like we were in good hands. This place, as many in the area do, serve Korean soups, stews over rice dishes and katsu - the carbonara and shrimp aglio olio (garlic and oil) pasta were two items that caught my eye for not being typically seen served in Korean spots. While they both sound delicious I thought it might be too heavy for me so we opted for spicy squid and pork, and Don Katsu with cheese.. you know, lighter fare haha. An assortment of banchan came with our meal - pickled radishes and peppers, cabbage salad and of course the namesake kimchi. When our dishes are brought out I was struck by how large the portion size was which for sure makes this place stand out. Making it exemplary even further is the deliciousness of the food. We are given a mountain of spicy squid and pork so tender and with such great flavor. The Don Katsu I couldn't stop eating which was concerning because it came with two large, juicy, crispy cutlets - luckily I was able to stop myself. When I am in the mood for some Korean comfort this place is certainly on the top of my list. Hope to bring some friends soon to try and share more dishes!
